Why is this geographical resource important for your study of the Word? CONTEXT! As we say on the CIU campus, "context is king!" But what do we mean by context? Certainly we consider the surrounding verses, the entire passage and the Bible book itself. But the events recorded did not take place in a vacuum. We must enter into the historical, cultural and theological context of the Scripture we are studying.

We must also know the "where," the geographical context, to fully understand the "who," the "how," and the "why," of what we are reading. The people we meet in the Bible were real people who lived in real places under real conditions. This was not by accident. The God who meticulously formed the hills and valleys of the Land is the One who located people in the exact places He had prepared for them. This resource is designed to help you "see" these places and to "experience" what these people experienced. We hope this CD will help you "to walk in their sandals."
